Another story

Guess how long it took me from Seattle to CollegeStation to my host institution, A&M University?

I left the Westin at 8h20 on Wednesday to catch a flight to Dallas at 11h05. After having turned our watches 2hrs on during the flight, Mandy and I arrived at the Hyatt Regency Hotel near the Dallas Airport shortly before 18h00 where we slept over.

The hotel shuttle services dropped Mandy at terminal A the next morning for Houston, and I was dropped at terminal B for CollegeStation where my flight was expected to leave at 12h15 - I was first in line to board by 11h30, Cyrill you would have been proud of me! But no sign of our small aeroplane...

By 12h00 the flight was cancelled, passengers were re-booked individually: Mine were 15h15 to Houston - a flight of about 1hr, and then 18h05 from Houton to CollegeStation- arriving at my destination just before 19h00 Thursday night - as long as it took some of us from Cape Town to UrbanaChampaign :(

But I was warmly welcomed by a library staffmember from A&M, who assured me it is not uncommon to this part of the world. What makes me think we're off the main track here?

I belief the institution is great and what struck me when I walk around here is how easy people find it to smile :)

Thank you for your invite

Hi, Janie
Your email arrived in my junk email on remote access! Weird! I see I'm now down as a contributor on your blog - not sure that's a 100% correct. I thought inviting someone meant that they could post comments only.
